GRACE - LA GRACE (texte anglais)

Merci, Norton, mon cher Ami et grand Poète, merci d'avoir traduit ce poème en anglais!

GRACE

For Natacha

‘”Beauty is truth, truth beauty” -
that is all Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.’
Keats

You come aery and tender as the dawn,
With Attic light singing in your hair,
Better times quiver brightly in your snow-white hands
Like ancient stories engraved on an amphora.

You, my beautiful Vestal, born of pearly calyxes
And iris-scented breezes which swell the sails!
O body more slender than the soul of cathedrals
And more harmonious than a line by great Alcaeus!

Hidden in the reeds, I admire your limpid steps
Which make the silent grasses and the velvet flowers
Tremble, majestic in their innocence!

Just as Venus in ancient times, split the milky foam
And lit up the earth with her emerald eyes
Changing death into life and the sky into poetry!
