THUMOS (en anglais)

« έκ θυμού φιλέειν »
('To love with all one's heart')

Our hearts beat fast, my Prince, when, beneath the sweet lime tree,
that emerald with a thousand facets cut by Night,
we drank the words chiselled by the genius,
of Alberti, of Manutius, of della Mirandola.

1. Thumos (Greek): 'heart'

2. Leon Battista Alberti (1404-1472), Aldus Manutius (1449-1515), (Giovanni Pico della Mirandola (1463-1494): three of the most famous Italian humanists
